Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou born Beaumont, Puy-deDomme France in August 9th 1976. She is the oldest child among four children. Her parents, a dentist and teacher recognized and backed her love for theatre and drama from a young age which was more important than a desire to be a primatologist due to her fascination with monkeys. When she was a teenager, her rise to stardom was quick and accompanied by initial recognition and success. When she graduated in 1998, her degree she was invited to take part in Jeunes Premiers an French show on TV that is a talent-scouting initiative, which is which was run by Canal+. There she received the award for best Young Actress in the Beziers Festival of Young Actors. It was this that led her to pursue a professional career as an actor. Though she was a student at in the Institut Catholique de Paris and went to church as a child, Tautou has stayed away from her religious upbringing and has stated that she is not officially Catholic. Alongside her acting career, Tautou has also been a model and the model for L'Oreal Mont Blanc as well as Chanel. Also, she has an intense photographic passion and has recently presented an exhibit of her work during the Arles Festival with the name Superficial. Her photographs focuses primarily on celebrity and the spotlight. The camera is turned at journalists, who sat and watched her as she rose to stardom in Amelie. Audrey Tautou's international success and fame soared after her role as Amelie Poulain's lead actress in the film Le Fabuleux Destin in the film d'Amelie. Amelie gained international attention due to its success at the box office. It was also praised in award ceremonies all over the world. It is the most successful French language film in the US. Following this massive success, Tautou starred in many films including British dramas such as Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things and Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Un long dimanche de fiancailles. Also, she starred with Tom Hanks in Ron Howard's The Da Vinci Code directed by Dan Brown.
